COURT Fields Pre-School, in Wellington, has been graded as 'outstanding' by Ofsted.

It follows the first inspection since the pre-school, which has occupied part of the former Wellington Youth Centre for the past two years, became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

The glowing report says that "children flourish under the care of exceptionally committed staff in this welcoming pre-school" and "children exhibit very high levels of confidence and perseverance in all aspects of their learning".

The manager, Sheryl Higgs, said she was "incredibly proud" of what has been achieved.

She added: "A combination of wonderful staff, supportive trustees, lovely parents, a fantastic venue, and of course our amazing children, of whom we are so proud, has contributed to us earning the outstanding grade."

The pre-school operates during term time and has 45 children on roll.

The premises features an adventure garden with supervised climbing equipment, along with play and growing areas.

The pre-school offers sessional day care for the two to four years age range.

Chairman of the trustees Cliff Marsh said: "I was confident that Sheryl and her staff would be recognised with an outstanding rating as they all work so hard, and the trustees are so proud of them all."
