ONE of Britain's greatest ever runners has been training schoolchildren and staff at a Taunton company.

Olympic legend Jo Pavey, who took part in a British record of five Olympic Games, held a coaching session for sports leaders from Blackbrook Primary School.

The session took place at the walking track wildflower meadow at WPA health insurer, based on Blackbrook Park Avenue.

It comes after Jo agreed last month to become WPA's brand ambassador, encouraging its staff to become healthier.

A WPA spokesperson said: "With the post-Covid reported health issues of children returning to school less fit, active and sociable, we want to help inspire children to get fit.

"Healthy activity makes children more attentive, helping them make the most of learning.

"If that activity becomes a habit, they will be more likely to be healthier into adulthood."

Jo has already carried out some fitness training with WPA staff.

The WPA team recently completed 800 laps of the track as a fundraiser for The Samaritans.
