TIME to Talk Day, the nation's biggest mental health conversation day, was celebrated yesterday, February 2, across the Somerset region.

The purpose of the day was to bring friends, families, communities and workplaces together, encouraging people to open up and talk about their mental health.

The day was run by mental health charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with Co-op and with support from Time To Change Wales, See Me and Change Your Mind / Inspire.

Somerset County Council urged people to open up about what's on their mind and take a patient approach towards your own and others' struggles.

The Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commission also urged staff members to take care of their mental wellbeing, including how to cope with the pressures of the job.

Taunton's Abermarle ran a tea and talk event, giving people the space to talk and to share advice.
