A Somerset village has been named among the top 10 affordable Valentine's Day getaway locations in the UK for 2023.
Cheddar placed third on the list, which was created by the holiday lettings company Hoseasons.
It was only beaten out by Bovey Tracey in Devon in second place and Beverley in East Yorkshire in first.
The top 10 list is based on Hoseasons bookings data for short breaks under £200 per person for a three and four-night stay arriving across the Valentine’s period.
Cheddar ranked above locations such as Bassenthwaite in Cumbria (4th), Great Yarmouth in Norfolk (5th) and Bude in Cornwall (8th)
What does Cheddar have to offer?
Cheddar is a picturesque village, and offers plenty of sights to see in the nearby area, so is ideal for taking walks whilst on a romantic break.
Whilst you're there seeing Cheddar Gorge could be an option, whilst there are plenty of gift shops, coffee shops, and tea rooms to enjoy.
In recommending a place to stay for a Valentine's Day getaway Hoseasons suggested the Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa.
They said: "Set on the slopes of the Mendip Hills with spectacular views of the Somerset countryside, Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa has everything you could wish for a romantic getaway.
"Many of the lodges have hot tubs and guests can also enjoy swimming and the 5* luxury spa. Couples, can of course, really crank up the cheesy-getaway factor and visit nearby Cheddar village, the birthplace of the famous Cheddar Cheese."
At the time of writing a four-night stay at Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa from Monday, February 13 for up to two people costs from £639 or three nights from the 10th costs from £319.
This can be booked on the Hoseasons website or by calling 0345 268 0766.
