TONE FM radio station is enjoying a month-long celebration of its tenth birthday.
First coming on air on February 28, 2013, it now has a dedicated team of nearly 40 volunteers and is as focused as ever on original content.
It currently broadcasts on FM, on a dedicated app, and several streaming platforms, including Alexa.
And 2024 will see the station’s parent organisation, The Tone Community Media Group CIC, turning on a brand new digital radio service for Taunton Deane after securing a new licence to manage a small scale DAB Multiplex for the area.
As a huge thank you to all its listeners, partners and friends over the last decade, Tone FM is embarking on its biggest giveaway to date.
Working with local partners the ToneFM, Top 10 at 10 sees listeners get the chance to win a host of unique prizes from a prize vault worth over £2,500.
Station director Patch Jobson said: "The Top 10 at 10 is our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported the station and the team over the last decade.
"The team has always tried to do the very best we can, and that dedication is what drives us forward.
"We’ve had an amazing 10 years to date, but we’re hoping to make the next 10 even better."
A prize from one of the station's partners is being given away every three days.
The prizes include dinners for two, car services, theatre, concert and sport tickets, and a holiday for six for four nights.
Programme and music coordinator Jeff Strawbridge added: "Whilst we are celebrating our birthday this month, we’re also looking forward to another announcement that we plan to make towards the latter part of the month, which is also going to bring an exciting new project not just to Taunton, but to Somerset for the very first time."
