A 'GHOST whisperer' who has traced missing people and solved crimes in the USA has been called into a Taunton business in what is believed to be a UK first.

Ceri Connor is dropping by Antiques on High, in Silver Street, in a bid to extract the true history behind some of the antiques on display at the centre.

And David Harper, star of Antiques Roadshow and other TV shows, will be there filming for YouTube on Monday, February 27.

Believed to be one of only six people in the UK to possess such an unusual talent, Ceri’s ability is recognised by the American police authorities, who have used her ability to trace missing people and criminals with remarkably successful conclusions.

She is regularly contacted by people around the world requesting her help in finding missing people and stolen items.

While many may be sceptical of the ability of someone who claims to possess such a talent, Ceri gave up her full-time job as a fashion stylist for a leading high street chain to concentrate on helping people with her unusual skills.

Antiques on High owner Vincent Page told the County Gazette: "Having spoken with Ceri, I am under no illusion as to her ability to extract some of the real history from some antiques and with 15,000 thousand square feet of stock on offer it should be a fascinating evening.

"Those familiar with David’s videos will no doubt have seen his popular YouTube channel which features a wide and varied range of fascinating videos all surrounding the antiques business.

"To be able to truly find out some of the history as to who owned an item or what happened to it during its journey and how it came to be where it is now could well prove to be the icing on the cake.

"We all have a degree of knowledge as to the age of certain pieces and the material they are made from, but this experience could provide us with a true and genuine insight into where they came from.

"Who knows, we may find something owned by Royalty or Jack the Ripper."
