THERE'S a real treat in Taunton this weekend with an afternoon of music by local composers Jeanette Owen and Alice Thomas.
The first half of the Fitzwarren Musicians concert at The Sangha House, at Mitre House, in Tower Street, comprises chamber music featuring seven world premieres.
Two of those will be played by local professional trumpet player Luis Martelo and others featuring Jeannette Owen and Amanda Ayling on flute with Alice Thomas on clarinet.
Lucia Svecova, an Oxford scholar, is playing piano, James Perran, a Purcell School sixth form student, will be on violin and there are a number of other talented musicians taking part.

In the second half there will be a performance of Views of Exmoor, with lyrics by Philippa Johnson.
There will be four members of the Coton family singing, two Purcell students on violin and other prestigious musicians playing recorders, viola, bass clarinet and trombone.
And Matilda White, a Taunton School schiolar, normally known for her fantastic violin playing, will be showing her other talents as a percussionist.
This will conducted by Lucia Svecova, who is currently studying for a Masters in conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music.
The event is on Sunday (February 19) from 2.30pm until 4.30pm.
