A THIRD man has been arrested after a stabbing in Taunton yesterday (Saturday, February 18).

A teenager was arrested overnight on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Initially, a man and a teenage boy were arrested, however the man has since been released without charge.

The first teenager arrested also remains in police custody on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The incident occured in the park area between Baldwin Road and Monmouth Road, Halcon, just before 3.30pm today, Saturday 18 February.

POLICE have arrested two people after a man was stabbed in Taunton yesterday afternoon (Saturday, February 18).

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

At around 3.30pm, the man was stabbed in the park area between Baldwin Road and Monmouth Road in Taunton.

Reports suggest there was a bigger altercation involving several other people.

A man and a teenage boy were later arrested by police.

A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: "It happened in the park area between Baldwin Road and Monmouth Road, Halcon, just before 3.30pm, Saturday 18 February.

"Police and ambulance crews attended immediately and found a man with stab wounds. Thankfully his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing and he’s receiving treatment in hospital.

"Initial reports suggest that he had been involved in altercation with several other people who were on bicycles.

"A man was arrested nearby at about 4pm and a teenage boy has also been arrested. Both remain in police custody at this time."

Police have now increased their presence in the area as the investigation continues.
