A MAN in his 40s was arrested after two people were injured and property and vehicles were damaged during a disturbance in a village near Taunton.
Police turned out in force after being called to the incident in Norton Fitzwarren at around 1.30pm yesterday (Monday, February 20).
There were reports of a man "exhibiting threatening behaviour towards members of the public and damaging property and vehicles" in Hilly Park, according to a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police.
Of the two injured people, a man was left in the care of the ambulance service, while a woman did not require medical attention.
The force spokesperson added: "A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, common assault, threatening with an offensive weapon in a public place and four counts of criminal damage.
"Officers remained in the area to carry out house-to-house enquiries, review doorbell footage and take witness statements."
