THE Reuse Shop at the Priorswood Recycling site, in Taunton, is currently closed until further notice.
Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) said the closure is due to a bereavement.
Efforts are underway to find a new contractor to reopen the facility.
An SWP spokesperson said: "The Reuse Shop at the Taunton Recycling site is temporarily closed due to a bereavement.
"We know the shop is popular with many people and are working with Biffa, who run Somerset’s recycling sites on our behalf, to find a new contractor to reopen the shop and hope to make progress before too long.”
The Reuse Shop opened in 2013 to offer furniture, sports equipment, kitchenware and much more at great prices seven days a week on the same hours as the recycling site.
