POLICE officers on horses chased a driver who was using the phone while at the wheel in Taunton town centre.
AS Road Policing posted a video showing two officers chasing a silver car down East Reach.
The video, posted today (Tuesday, March 14) through one of Avon and Somerset Police’s accounts, shows police officers reaching the driver.
After stopping the driver, one of the officers said: “You know you shouldn’t be using your phone.
“But you are driving and you’re on the phone, and I can see there’s a phone call going.”

Police are currently clamping down on the risk caused by drivers using their phones at the wheel as part of their OpTelecom operation.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers from @ASPoliceHorses have been supporting #OpTelecom, our operation to clamp down on the risk posed by drivers who use their phone at the wheel.
“This driver was sighted and stopped on East Reach, #Taunton. Drivers face 6 points and £200 fine if caught using a phone.”
