FOR the second year in a row pupils from the 10 schools associated with The Redstart Learning Partnership enjoyed the opportunity to express their views and perceptions on diversity via their art.

The pupils were given the brief ‘what does diversity mean to you?’
Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change, without uttering a single word. Artists can enlighten, educate and affect change around the world.

All entries were judged by considering their interpretation of the diversity theme, vibrancy, creativity, and individuality.

Entries were submitted in year-group categories from all 10 schools.

The winners were chosen by Suzanne Flack (CEO of TRLP), Ethne Staniland (Subject Leader of Art for TRLP), and Carolyn Lefley (Somerset artist).

The top three winning children from each year group will have their artwork exhibited in the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton foyer for two weeks and will be invited to attend an artist workshop for the day.

In addition, 1st prize from each year group received a £10 Waterstone's voucher.

Suzanne Flack, CEO The Redstart Learning Partnership said: “The level of entries was outstanding. It was an extremely difficult job deciding on the winners.

“The pupils really embraced the challenge and produced some very creative pieces of art which were colourful, expressive, imaginative, and skillful.
