A MOTHER and daughter from Taunton have dropped by the children's ward at Musgrove Park Hospital and homeless drop in centre Open Door today (Thursday, April 7) to deliver 150 Easter eggs.

It is the third year Dionne and 11-year-old Keira John have presented the chocolate treats to the two causes.

Dionne said: "We want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has donated to our collection for these two amazing and very important causes this year.

"We would like to thank the incredible team at Tone FM as well as Laura and Mary at Tesco for setting up a donation basket in store and all the customers that kindly took the time to donate an egg.

"We would also like to thank my work colleagues at Somerset Council plus friends and family.

"We hope this brings a huge smile to many children at the hospital this Easter."

Keira is a regular supporter of Open Door and she and Dionne donated bags of warm clothing over the winter.

Dionne added: “We are so proud of Keira for having such a kind nature and wanting to help people at such a young age."

Dionne, the current Mrs Taunton Atlantic who has raised more than £10,000 for various charities, is the 90s Heaven presenter at Tone FM radio station.

Keira competed in Texas last summer in Junior Miss Galaxy International pageant, winning the titel Miss Pre-Teen Galaxy Europe, allowing her to head over to Florida this year to compete internationally for a second year running.

She is also setting up a nationwide campaign to help anyone who has been affected or is going through cyber bullying.
