GLASTONBURY Festival has announced the Field of Avalon stage line-up for 2023, featuring Melanie C, Will Young and Fisherman's Friends.

The Damned will also perform on the stage this year after they were forced to withdraw in 2022 because members of their camp tested positive for Covid.

Festivalgoers have been promised “days of eclectic music representing the best in the world of contemporary, roots and folk music” from a “gender equal line-up”.

A festival spokesperson said: “Like an island in the sea of Glastonbury, the Field of Avalon maintains its unbroken connection to the earthy Eden.

“Once part of the Greenfields, it remains as one of the original areas still visited by a diverse lineage of legendary musicians, artists and fellow pilgrims.

“Festival travellers come to rest their weary legs and recharge with a pint of ale, delicious food and some of the best and diverse musical programmes on site.”

Last year, REEF stepped in to replace The Damned after their withdrawal.
