The site where KFC hopes to open at Chelston
CHICKEN restaurant KFC is planning to open a drive-thru fast food outlet on the outskirts of Wellington.
A planning application for the proposed development has been submitted to Somerset Council.
The company is hoping to win permission for the eaterie at Plot 8 Westpark 26, at Chelston.
Its proposals include access, parking, servicing and landscaping at the site.
If successful, KFC says the restaurant would create 30 new jobs for the local area - 18 part time and 12 full time.
The premises would be leased to KFC by owners Summerfield Developments (SW) Ltd.
