THE A39 in Porlock will be closed next week to allow for resurfacing works.

The resurfacing works will take place from Monday, April 24. The works are planned to finish on Friday, April 28.

There will be a night time closure from 6.30pm until 11.30pm on the A39 High Street, from the junction of Parson Street towards the war memorial at Dunster Steep.

There will be a signed diversion in place.

Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s lead member for Travel and Digital, said: "We recognise that these works will inevitably impact on the community, and we have been engaging in the village since last month and want to do our very best to manage and mitigate it.

“We chose this period as when we last resurfaced a similar section of carriageway within the village it was the least disruptive between the holiday of Easter, the Spring Bank Holidays and the remaining summer season."
