A MOTHER from Taunton who failed to regularly send her son to school has been hit with a court bill of more than £1,000.
The mother, who cannot be named to protect the identity of her child, was found guilty of the charge at a hearing in Taunton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (April 25).
She was accused of not sending the 10-year-old to school regularly between September 20 last year and February 23 this year.
Magistrates slapped a £660 fine on the woman and ordered her to pay a £264 victim surcharge, along with £120 towards prosecution costs.
They decided she must pay the total £1,044 bill by May 23.
