HOME-hunters can now buy a property at a new housing development taking shape in Cheddar.

Bellway South West is building 60 homes at Peregrine View, a 5.6-acre site off Hellier’s Lane.

The developer officially launched the site to the public on recently with the opening of a sales office and showhome.

Peregrine View will feature 42 properties for private sale and 18 affordable homes for local people through low-cost rent and shared ownership.

The development was named after a group of local peregrine falcons, which nest on the cliffs of the Cheddar Gorge valley nearby.

Peregrine View will feature a central village green, incorporating a children’s play area and picnic space, as well as two pond areas at the southern edge of the site. Bat bungalows will be installed to help local wildlife and new trees will be planted throughout the site.

All the homes are from Bellway’s Artisan Collection of contemporary house designs developed by a team of architects and technicians using decades of customer feedback.

There is currently a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes available to reserve, with prices starting at £345,500.
