SEVERAL schools in Somerset will be affected by an industrial action planned for tomorrow and will be partially closed.
National Education Union (NEU) teachers will be taking strike action tomorrow (Tuesday, May 2) in a long-running dispute over pay.
Here is a list of schools (from Somerset Council's website) around Somerset that announced a partial closure on May 2

- Minehead First School, Minehead
- Ashlands CofE Primary School, Crewkerne
- The Blue School, Wells
- Crispin School, Street
- The Taunton Academy, Taunton
- Ansford Academy, Castle Cary
- Kingston St Mary CofE Primary School, Taunton
- The Castle School, Taunton
- Buckler’s Meade School, Yeovil
- Selworthy School, Taunton
- Holway Park Community School, Taunton
- Holy Trinity Church of England School, Taunton
- Evercreech CofE Primary School, Taunton
- Frome Community School, Frome
PA reported that “Teachers in sixth-form colleges in England have voted to continue taking industrial action in a long-running dispute over pay.
“A re-ballot of members of the National Education Union showed that almost nine out of 10 wanted to carry on with a campaign of action.
“The union said sixth form college teachers have seen a 20 per cent cut in real terms pay since 2010.”
A previous industrial action took place on Thursday, April 27.
