A 'NICE car' parked in one of Taunton's most elegant streets has been seized by police.
Officers from Taunton Neighbourhood Policing had received a report of a Porsche with several parking tickets in The Crescent area of the town.
They went along to check following concerns that the vehicle had been stolen and dumped.
But once on site, the police discovered the car had not been taxed for over half a year.
A spokesperson for the neighbourhood policing team said: "We seized this vehicle from the highway yesterday evening (Tuesday, May 2) for no tax.
"Officers were made aware of this vehicle by a member of public, advising that it had several parking tickets on it and based on it 'being a nice car' they thought it might be reported stolen.
"So when the officer attended to check the vehicle out, the vehicle came back on our systems as having no tax - and it wasn't just one or two days out of tax. This vehicle's tax had expired in October of last year.
"At this point we act on behalf of the DVLA and get the vehicle recovered with the DVLA covering the costs of the recovery."
