A TRAFFIC prohibition order will prevent vehicles from using a 415-metre stretch of a busy town centre road in Taunton for 16 hours a day for over 10 weeks.
The restrictions are set to be imposed in Fore Street and East Street from Monday (June 12), until Thursday, August 24, a total of 74 days.
All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Fore Street from its junction with The Parade roundabout along East Street to its junction with Hurdle Way.
The order will be in place during that period between the hours of 8am and 11.59pm.
Somerset County Council issued the order to enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas mains replacement work.
Details of alternative routes will be signed during the works.
For further information about the scheme, contact Wales and West Utilities on 0800 9122999, giving the call handler the reference ttro400934TD.
