A TAUNTON coach firm saved the day when a Ukrainian woman heading for a flight home was stranded in London without her passport.

Berrys Coaches came to the rescue by ferrying her passport, which she had left in Taunton, up to the capital on its Superfast service.

Blue Penguin posted on Facebook: "A Ukrainian lady on the way to Luton Airport found herself in London, but with her passport still in Taunton and with only hours to go before her flight.

"Facing the thought of having to book a night in London and another flight the next day...Berrys agreed to courier her passport up on the Superfast from Taunton."

After collecting her passport, the woman made a dash to Luton on the tube and a bus, arriving just as they were closing the gate.

Scott Berry, of Berrys, said: "We always ask our staff to go above and beyond to give the best customer service they can.

"This was a slightly unusual request, but in the circumstances we were delighted our courier on board the coach and customer care team in the office were able to assist, and as a result that they were able to make their flight and be reunited with their loved ones.”
