A WOMAN from Burnham-on-Sea has said her decision to push herself on a fitness journey has improved her livelihood.

Georgina, aged 56, is a campaign ambassafor for the Stronger 4 Longer campaign. She's said she is feeling fitter and stronger after making this switch.

"Along with diet, nutrition and HRT, physical activity supports my menopause symptoms.

"As with most things in life it’s all about balance. I am feeling so many benefits from keeping fit and strong and from doing this, it has given me confidence to try new things, even a career change aged 55!

"My main advice is ensuring it’s something that you enjoy, and you will never regret a workout, but will regret not making time for one."

Stronger 4 Longer encourages adults over 50 to build muscle strength to protect their future health. Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) is the lead provider for the campaign, providing improved awareness and opportunities for people to build strength and balance in ways that are relatable to them now and prepare them for the future.

Georgina added: "My barriers remain the same, top of the list is time and motivation! I’m pleased the daylight hours are now longer which allows more time to get outside, and I regularly make use of my break at work for a brisk walk.

"We may have grown up families, elderly parents, grandchildren, full time work and so on, but there are 168 hours in the week."
