A DEVELOPER says sales of homes on a new-build scheme in Taunton are "booming".
Properties at Nerrols Grange have been bought at the rate of one a week over the past month.
The company attributes to the four sale in the last month to the uninterrupted views enjoyed by many of the houses.
Louise Ware, sales director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: "There has been a terrific amount of interest in our Taunton development recently which has resulted in a boom in sales.
“Location is one of the most important factors in a new home search.
"Taunton is an amazing place to live and Nerrols Grange benefits from a tranquil, semi-rural setting with some homes in cul-de-sacs, which particularly appeal to families, while for commuters the M5 and train station are just a few minutes away.
"Homes are also competitively priced – three-bedroom properties are currently priced from £300,000, while the asking price for a typical property in Taunton is currently more than £324,000.
“The latest customers to complete purchases at the development include first-time buyers and families looking for their forever home and it’s great to see the emergence of a new community here.”
House hunters at Nerrols Grange can receive a range of financial assistance including help towards a deposit, mortgage payments or moving and running costs.
Flooring is also included on selected properties for completions by September 15.
David Wilson Homes has also increased and extended its support for key workers - for every £20,000 they spend the housebuilder will contribute £1,000 towards their deposit.
Financial contributions are available for reservations by December 15.
