TAUNTON Deane MP Rebecca Pow was among the overwhelming majority of MPs who backed the report concluding that former Prime Minister Boris Johnson deliberately misled the House of Commons over Partygate.

The report, which found that Mr Johnson told Parliament repeatedly claimed no Covid rules were broken in Number 10, was supported by 354 MPs, with seven against in yesterday's vote (Monday, June 19).

No vote was recorded for 225 MPs who either abstained or did not attend the vote.

Ms Pow was one of 118 Conservatives who voted in favour of the report.

She has posted on Twitter saying: "Last night I voted in support of the findings of the Privileges Committee; respecting and backing the parliamentary process; drawing a line so that we can move on."
