AN Evening with Ocean Colour Scene's Simon and Oscar is coming to Frome’s Cheese and Grain on Saturday, July 1, writes Ryan Collins.
The show will be the last of their summer 2023 tour, after performing their acoustic displays to hundreds up and down the country.
Ocean Colour Scene has produced nine albums, three of which went Top 5 – 1996’s Moseley Shoals, 1997’s Marchin’ Already and 1999’s One from The Modern – and a run of nine successive Top 20 hit singles.
They supported Oasis at their massive Knebworth shows in 1999, and two years later helmed the biggest arena tour of any UK band to date.
On their new tour, Scene's Simon and Oscar will be performing intimate acoustic performances of all their big hits and anthems, including The Riverboat Song, The Circle, Traveller’s Tune, Hundred-Mile-High City and The Day We Caught The Train.
Simon Fowler describes the acoustic shows as,“a real tonic - a great chance to look the audience in the eye and interact with them on a more personal basis than ever before”.
Founding member of Dexy’s Midnight Runners Pete Williams will open for Simon and Oscar in a special appearance.
