AN elderly driver has been banned from the road for repeat speeding.
Beverley de Maine-Lonsdale, 61, of Bere Aller, High Ham, was sentenced for her latest offence after pleading guilty at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
The court heard that she was clocked doing 51mph in a 30mph section of the A372 Westonzoyland Road, near Bridgwater.
de Maine-Lonsdale was fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £48 along with an £85 contribution towards the prosecution costs.
She was disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months after receiving six penalty points.
Magistrates told her "disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending".
She must settle the total court bill of £253 by July 18.
