SOMERSET will hope to progress to the Finals Day of the T20 Vitality Blast competition once again this year, but first they have a home Quarter Final to deal with.
They take on Notts Outlaws on Friday, July 7 in Taunton and will play in front of a sold out Cooper Associates County Ground.
Notts finished fourth in the North Group of the competition after winning eight of their 14 group stage matches.
Their star players are openers Joe Clarke and Alex Hales who have both been in decent form this campaign. With the ball, the man to watch out for is Shaheen Shah Afridi who has taken 22 wickets in T20 games for Notts in the last year.
Somerset though are now officially the best team ever in Blast history, after they won a record breaking 12 out of 14 group stage matches.
With the ball, Ben Green and Matt Henry have been the standouts. Green in particular is on red-hot form as he tops the wicket taking charts for the competition this year.
Will Smeed, Tom Banton and Tom Kohler-Cadmore lead the batting attack, and on their home turf, Somerset will be hoping to post a 200+ total.
It is set to be an action-packed affair and the people of Taunton will be loud and proud, trying to get their team into Finals Day.
The action is due to start at 6.30pm on Friday, July 7.
