TAUNTON Town have put to bed the striker signing rumours with the confirmation that Malachi Linton has joined the club.

The 22-year-old striker joins on a season-long loan from local rivals Yeovil Town.

Speaking about his arrival at Wordsworth Drive, Linton said: ”I’m really excited to be here. The gaffer was a big pulling factor in getting me here and I just can’t wait to start playing for him and with my new teammates.

"Playing at different clubs under different managers you pick something up from each so hopefully I can implement what I’ve learnt to help the team achieve their goals this season. I can’t wait to get started.”

Linton arrives at Wordsworth Drive with a solid pedigree. He was a member of the academy at hometown club Ipswich Town for six years before joining Crewe Alexandra where he played for their Under 18’s and Under 23’s.

Head of Football Rob Dray said: ”It’s a bit of a coup for the club to be fair and many thanks to Mark Cooper and Chris Todd at Yeovil for sorting.

"Signing Malachi on loan from Yeovil shows how far we’ve come and where we want to go. He ticks a lot of boxes and is different to what we’ve got in our other forwards. He’s going to be a super lad to have in the team and has a great attitude."
