A TWELVE-year-old singer and guitarist gave a live performance in front of more than 70 people in his home village.

Robbie took to the stage at Bishops Lydeard Village Hall to perform his own songs and covers from groups such as Oasis, Coldplay and The Stereophonics.

His friend Sienna, an accomplished singer, joined him for several songs.

And he invited some of his friends who also play and sing to get up on stage with him to experience performing to an audience.

Robbie's mum Liann Hope said: "Robbie loves to play and sing but found that there weren’t always opportunities for young people to gain the experience of playing to an audience, something which can’t be practised at home, and wanted to extend the opportunity to others.

"His dad and I set about organising and booking the hall and a wonderful time was had by all.

"Robbie decided he’d like to put a collection box at the back of the hall to raise money for the Taunton Food Bank. Over £100 was made along with food donations."
