BRADFORD-on-Tone’s annual strawberry fair is being revamped with a new venue and a new look this year.

The event has been running for many years and raises money for charity.

In the past it has been held in the private home of a village resident and in the village hall.

But this year, for the first time, it is being moved to the White Horse Inn, in the centre of Bradford-on-Tone.

Former BBC Somerset correspondent Clinton Rogers, who lives in the village, will open the fair at 2pm on Saturday, August 26.

This year it is raising money for the community shop, the village hall and St Giles’ Church.

Mark Anderson, of the organising team, said: “The strawberry fair has always been a popular village event, but we hope moving it to the pub will enable us to attract an even bigger crowd.

“And we will have the space to lay on more attractions, like a bouncy castle and face painting for the children.

"Bradford-on-Tone’s highly sought after band of local musicians, Fresh Aire, will also be performing.

“And the good news is you don’t need to live in Bradford-on-Tone to come to the fair. Everyone is welcome.”
