GREENSLADE Taylor Hunt has held another successful sale at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, where a mixture of residential and agricultural properties attracted strong bidding.

First up was Charleshayes Farm, Upottery, Honiton, which comprised a Grade II* listed farmhouse in need of complete renovation, together with an extensive range of farm buildings and adjoining and off-lying pasture land.

The property was an ideal auction opportunity situated within the Blackdown Hills and available in four lots.

A large local crowd witnessed strong bidding and saw the hammer fall at £640,000 for the farmhouse, buildings and 29.11 acres with the three other land lots all achieving guide level and above.

Cottage Farm, Bridgehampton, Yeovil, was next up and having recently suffered from flood damage required improvement throughout but offering enormous potential to create a good-sized desirable family residence in a delightful village location.

The property also benefits from a small range of farm buildings, in total extending to 2.26 acres, and achieved £350,000 on the fall of the hammer.

Further highlights included 34A Bicknell Gardens, Yeovil, a well-designed first floor studio apartment with the added benefit of an allocated parking space, communal gardens and grounds. A fantastic opportunity for an investment buyer finally selling at £52,000.

Last up was a single enclosure of gently sloping and undulating permanent pasture land occupying a peaceful location, on the outskirts of the village of Seavington St Mary, near Ilminster, extending to 5.47 acres which after spirited bidding saw a final sale price of £104,000 on a guide of £75,000.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s expanding auction department is holding its next sale on Wednesday, September, 27 from 2pm at the Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster.
