POLICE are trying to trace a driver who fled the scene of a two-vehicle collision that blocked a road on the outskirts of Wellington.

Police were called to the incident which blocked the Milverton Road near Burchill's Hill shortly before 11.25am yesterday (Monday, August 21).

A woman who had been driving one of the vehicles sustained an arm injury.

Witnesses told officers that the driver of the other vehicle had left the scene on foot.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a two-vehicle collision in Milverton Road, Wellington.

"Officers attended and found one of the drivers at the scene who had sustained an injury to her arm.

"They were told the other driver had left the area on foot after the collision and enquiries are being carried out to identify him."

Police left the scene once vehicle recovery work was completed at around 4.10pm.

The force spokesperson added: "We'd please ask any witnesses to call 101 and provide the call-handler with log number 318 of 21 August."
