AN emergency road closure is in place just outside of Othery whilst engineers work on fixing a leak.
The A372, near Peppard Close, is expected to be closed until Friday (August 26) while the Wessex Water repair work is carried out.
The leak has caused flooding to the area which, if left, could pose a danger to motorists and pedestrians, as well as cause damage to surrounding vehicles.
Motorists will be able to follow signs for a diversion via Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Keinton Mandeville, Somerton and Aller.
There are signs in place to warn road users about the affected road and give them time to alter their route.
A Wessex Water spokesperson said: “This is essential emergency work to repair a leak that is causing flooding in the area and our teams are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete it.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
