SPEEDING on the outskirts of Taunton has landed a motorist with a court bill approaching £3,500.
Frank Williams, 63, denied driving at 50mph in a 30mph limit but was found guilty of the charge when he appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court, in Weston-super-Mare.
Williams, of The Grove, Dorchester, was clocked speeding on the A358 at Henlade, near the junction with Lipe Lane and Stoke Road on April 1 las year.
Magistrates slapped an £806 fine on him an ordered him to pay a £81 victim surcharge and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £2,565.
He was told to settle the total court bill of £3,452 by December 1.
He was also given six penalty points on his driving licence.
