A FUN morning of all things fitness is set to go ahead in Shepton Mallet this Saturday September 9.

Hosted by JTFIT, located in the Anglo Trading Estate, locals can choose to take part in any (or all) of three sessions in order to raise money for charity.

Attendants can take part in a 5km run around the town at 9am, a weights-based session at 10am, and/or a team fitness class at 11am.

A barbecue and cake stall will be available for those wanting to refuel after the workouts, as well as a raffle with exciting prizes donated by local businesses.

The morning of fitness is in partnership with a group of fundraisers who are completing a skydive to raise money for Cancer Support UK.

Charlotte Smith, part of the fundraising team known as The Manic Street Screechers, has been attending classes at JTFIT for around two years, and has taken part in previous community events held at the gym.

"Not only do you get to support a fantastic charity and small local businesses, it's a great way to get involved with a fitness community for everyone of all levels," Charlotte said.

Joe Tulley, founder of JTFIT, insisted that the charity fundraiser morning will replace his regular Saturday morning classes, with all proceeds going to Cancer Support UK.

"Helping Charlotte and her team raise money for Cancer Support UK was a no brainer," he said.

"We’re doing it in the best way we know how, fitness!

"The first workout of three is a steady run around Shepton Mallet, roughly 5k.

"Workout number two sees a team competition style workout with some big lifts so participants can really test themselves.

"Team work is key for our final workout of the day and it should be a fun one to round up a great morning of fitness!

"We’re asking for a small drop in fee for each workout, which will all go towards the team’s total.

"All three workouts are suitable and can be adapted for everyone so get yourselves booked in for a great event."

Each session costs £3.50 and you can book your place by visiting @JT_F1T on Instagram or by following this link.
