FIRE crews from multiple stations have responded to reports of a kitchen fire in a residential property in Glastonbury.
After receiving numerous reports at around 11am yesterday (Saturday, September 9), crews from Glastonbury, Street, Wells, Bridgwater, Somerton, Cheddar, Honiton and Martock were called.
Four pumps and an aerial appliance were also mobilised.
When they arrived, they found the kitchen well alight.
Crews used the following equipment:
- Four breathing apparatus
- Two hose reel jets
- One safety jet
- One 45ml covering jet
- One hose reel attack jet
- Positive pressure ventilation
- One 135 ladder
- One triple extension ladder
- Two thermal imaging cameras
The attendance was increased to seven pumping appliances, one command unit and one incident support unit at around 11.33am.
At 1.04pm, positive pressure ventilation ceased. Crews got to work with cutting away at walls and cooling hotspots.
