AN ICE rink which debuted at Clarks Village last Christmas is set to return for the festive season this year.

The Somerset shopping outlet will welcome back the Christmas ice rink for its second year, opening from Thursday, November 9 until Sunday, January 7 – including opening on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

The 550-square-metre ice rink features real ice and will be custom built for the Christmas season at Clarks Village.

Undercover and beautifully decorated, the ice rink offers a magical skating experience for guests visiting Clarks Village over eight weeks.

The all-weather ice-skating rink will be set within the stunning grounds of the historic Arthur Gillet Trust which neighbours Clarks Village, with a dedicated entrance opposite the outlet’s Restaurant Terrace area where skaters and spectators can enjoy a bite to eat after their session.

Chris Davis, Centre Director at Clarks Village which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, commented: “The ice rink was tremendously popular last Christmas with guests, both those who came especially to ice skate and those who added it on to a fun day of Christmas shopping.

Somerset County Gazette:

"The ice rink really adds a touch of festive sparkle at Clarks Village and an extra dimension for our guests to create the ultimate Christmas shopping experience; we can’t wait to see it return this year.”

Ice-skating sessions will be 45 minutes long and are pre-bookable with skate hire included. The ice rink will offer quiet sessions, discos, and parent and toddler sessions.

Penguin and seal skating aids are available for hire as well as bob skates to help guests stay steady.

The ice rink is also wheelchair accessible. For those looking for larger private parties, the ice rink is also available for exclusive hire.

More details about the ice rink including ticket sales will be announced on the Clarks Village website.
