THE much-acclaimed French-trained pianist Patrick Hemmerlé will be playing a full recital at Queen’s College Taunton.
The programme will include the 24 Préludes op28 by Frédéric Chopin.
There is an associated educational event for young pianists on the following day – Sunday, October 1 - including a conference, and public student masterclasses with Patrick Hemmerlé ending with a closing public recital by the students.
Michael Stembridge-Montavont, artistic director of Normandy Piano Courses, said: “It could be described as a weekend of piano with a particular focus on the 24 Preludes op 28.
“I myself, have organised piano festivals for more than 25 years in France, Jersey, and Cambridge.
“Following the Brexit vote I moved to Taunton after thirty years living in Normandy (close to Lisieux) France.
“Anecdotally I am giving a conference on the French pianistic tradition that I share in common with Patrick Hemmerlé for the locally based ‘Cercle Français´ on Saturday.”
The event will take place on Sunday, September 30 at 7pm.
