HUNDREDS of people gathered in Taunton on Saturday (September 16) morning to join in the Pride March for the annual pride event in the town.

Taunton Pride kicked off for 2023 with a march from Goodland Gardens through the town centre and down the High Street into Vivary Park.

The people involved in the march were all dressed in plenty of colour and carried a very large rainbow flag while chanting and singing to honour Taunton Pride.

Members of LGBTQIA+ groups gathered with their rainbow flags for the start of the parade which began at 11.30am.

At the park, participants took part in the festival (which goes on until 8pm) to enjoy its many activities – live music, circus performances, theatre, arts, bars, and more.

Taunton Pride's website states: “For one day Taunton Town Centre will be a feast of visual and performing arts, culture and inclusively with a Pride Parade through town, multiple music stages, performers, dance, literary area, wellbeing area, children’s area, creative workshops, crafts, and awareness stalls and more in Vivary Park.”
