An investigation has been launched after a roof fire spread to four other houses in Cleveland Street yesterday afternoon, (Saturday, September 16).
Crews from Taunton, Wellington and Bridgwater arrived at around 1pm to find two semi-detached houses 'well alight' and had spread to another house.
They were called after reports of smoke coming from the roof of one of the properties. At around 1.40pm a fourth engine was called upon to help. At 2pm the fire had spread to another property.
A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "We requested an Aerial Ladder Platform to attend to assist with the incident. Crews used the following equipment: six breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, two main jets
At around 1.40pm a fourth engine was called upon to help. At 2pm the fire had spread to another property.
According to the Devon and Somserset Fire and Rescue website, the incident is still ongoing. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
