A COMPANY based in a village just outside Taunton has been fined for failing to provide requested information to the police.

Colour Coded Decorators Ltd, of Dipford Road, Trull, pleaded not guilty to failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

The company was found guilty in is absence of the offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 during a hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Court earlier this month.

Magistrates imposed a fine of £72 on Colour Coded Decorators Ltd and also ordered it to pay an obligatory victim surcharge of £28.

There was no order for costs and the court bill of £100 must be paid by October 11.
