A FILM premiere will celebrate Glastonbury’s relationship with the royal family and celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee anniversary.

‘Avalon of the Heart’ produced by Glastonbury Town Council and Flying Tiger Productions, the film “records a myriad of marvellous events, tying Glastonbury’s past and present together during the Platinum Jubilee”.

Glastonbury celebrated throughout 2022, and the list of events also included the broadcast of the first Jubilee Beacon, lit by ‘the Sovereign Flame of Avalon’, on Glastonbury Tor.

A message from the town council said: “Drawing inspiration from the centenary of Alice Buckton’s 1922 ‘Glastonbury Past and Present’ pageant and film, our new film records a myriad of marvellous events tying Glastonbury’s past and present together.

“Pageants, parades, and performances – capturing our legendary history, unique Royal Heritage, and our amazing town with its fabulous community.”

The screening will take place on Friday, September 29 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Glastonbury Town Hall.
