A TAUNTON takeaway with first-floor accommodation will be sold at auction next month.

The property, located between High Street and Crescent car park, is listed with Symonds & Sampson, an estate agent that covers much of the South West region.

The building previously housed Tuckers Pizza & Kebab, which closed in July.

Writing on Facebook after the closure, a spokesperson for the takeaway said: “We would like to say thank you to all our customers that have supported us all these years.

“Very sad after 16 years of running the business.”

The building is now up for sale by public auction with a guide price of £150,000. It will go under the hammer on Thursday, November 2.

A Symonds & Sampson spokesperson said: “48a High Street comprises a prominent hot food takeaway premises with first-floor residential accommodation, situated between High Street and the Crescent car park, a main public car park serving Taunton town centre.

“The property benefits from good levels of local and passing footfall via the adjacent pedestrian throughfare linking the High Street and the Crescent car park and is surrounded by a variety of other mixed commercial use and residential properties.

“The premises were most recently operated as Tuckers hot food takeaway and provide an unrivalled opportunity for similar food-retail use or provide an opportunity for conversion/redevelopment subject to planning.”

The ground floor contains a service counter, seating and a commercial kitchen with toilet facilities.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is also on outbuilding opposite the main premises that provides ancillary storage.
