RAIL commuters were temporarily delayed at Taunton Station earlier this morning (Wednesday, October 11).

Trains heading to London were held at Taunton for a period due to a signal failure at Castle Cary.

Services were up and running again by mid-morning.

The fault was discovered at 8.20am and services returned to normal by around 10.30am.

A GWR spokesperson said: "We apologise to customers whose journeys were delayed this morning.

"This was caused by a signal failure at Castle Cary.

“Any customer delayed by 15 minutes or more is entitled to claim a refund via our Delay Repay compensation scheme.”
