PART of the B3139 road which connects Wells to Wedmore will be closed this week.
BT-owned broadband company Openreach will be carrying out work in the Theale area this Thursday October 19.
According to One.Network, Openreach will close off the road in order to "carry out works to replace a pole."
Delays are to be expected, although Openreach state: "We do our utmost to minimise disruption where possible."
A diversion route will be in place which will see commuters sent from the Wells Road onto Glastonbury Road and onto Blakeway.
Pedestrians will still be able to use the road as the pavement remains open for use.
