SHEPTON MALLET residents have been invited to attend a meeting between the Town Council and Julian House.
The charity recently converted a local inn into a homeless shelter, but locals were not informed until almost two months after the new Julian House site first became operational.
Issues surrounding anti-social behaviour and the lack of proper planning permission for the site forced Julian House to admit they were "embarrassed" by their failure to initially convene with the local community.
Later this month, Shepton Mallet Town Council will meet with the charity, and locals are welcomed to sit in on the meeting.
A Town Council spokesperson said: "Shepton Mallet Town Council are meeting Julian House to understand more about how The Dusthole project operates and its role within the community.
"This will be an open meeting and members of the public are welcome to come along and learn more about the project."
The meeting will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday, October 31, in the Council Chamber at Shape Mendip.
