AVON and Somerset Police is investigating after receiving reports of three people trying the doors of cars and homes in Norton Fitzwarren.

According to the Taunton Neighbourhood Policing Team, police first received reports on Friday, October 20.

Officers have been reviewing footage from doorbell and security cameras.

Local people have been urged to keep their cars and their front doors locked and report any "suspicious" behaviour they witness.

A police spokesperson told the Somerset County Gazette: "We received reports of three people trying the doors of cars and homes in the Norton Fitzwarren area.

"Officers are carrying out an investigation to identify the individuals involved and they are advising residents to ensure they lock their cars and homes and to report any suspicious behaviour to us.

"If you have any relevant doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage, please report it to 101 and quote reference 5223256374."
