TOPPERS CC have announced their chosen theme of "Moonshine" for Bridgwater Carnival 2023.

Prior to this year's entry, the club had never covered an American theme despite a history of themes from other countries.

A spokesperson for Toppers CC said: "For this year's carnival season we wanted to bring a taste of the Wild West (Moonshine) to the streets of Somerset.

"It was a tough decision between the club on what theme to finalise on due to the club covering many different themes and countries over its history.

"After an in-depth design was presented to the club showing what the cart would look like, we all came to the conclusion it would be a very fun and entertaining cart to be apart of, and it would also bring so much enjoyment to the crowds around Somerset!

"After the period of what we called 'Covid carnvial', it was nice to have a sense of normality.

"For the first year fully back for everyone, and to have that factor of socialising and fundraising back, everything felt like it was back to how it used to be!

"After last seasons' success on our cart 'Thundervike' which won many awards in great success to the club, we all couldn't wait to get back in the shed to bring this year's design to life to show what a smaller club could produce.

"We hope to repeat last year's success with yet another eye opener of a cart."
