BARRATT David Wilson Homes South West is providing cashback for house hunters worth more than £165,000 across the region.

Cashback is available for completions by January 31 on selected three, four and five bedroom homes in Somerset, including David Wilson Homes’ Moorland Gate development in Bishops Lydeard and Barratt Homes’ Delamare Park scheme in Frome – the company’s first gas-free site in the UK - where only four homes remain for sale.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: “Our cashback offer has come at the ideal time for anyone who wants or needs to move quickly and be in a new home early next year.

"Combining our commitment to quality homes with a limited-time, tangible financial incentive represents an additional layer of value – it makes the home buying decision even more appealing and highlights our dedication to enhance buyers’ overall experience.”

Alternatively, house hunters at Moorland Gate and Delamare Park can use the company's Part Exchange (PX) initiative, which helps those with a property to sell move up the property ladder. With PX, homeowners receive two independent valuations from estate agents and a fair price is agreed with the homeowner.

Ms Ware added: “In today’s competitive property market, the urgency to sell and move quickly is a reality for many homeowners. Reports highlight that the average property sale duration in Frome stands at 113 days, which extends to 143 days in Bishops Lydeard.

"This not only disrupts the plans of those looking to move quickly but also puts 'second-steppers' or those with immediate mortgage offers at risk of delayed moves.

“Amongst the biggest fears for people that want to move up the property ladder is being able to find a buyer for their existing home and then when they do, wondering if it will proceed to a sale.

"We’ve all heard stories about people who have lost out on a property because they couldn’t sell their house or a part of the chain collapsed and it had a domino effect on everyone else. PX helps people who want or need to move house, safe in the knowledge they have a guaranteed buyer for their existing home and can move in a matter of weeks.”

Moorland Gate is surrounded by countryside and includes six acres of open spaces, play areas, and is within walking distance of local shops and village pubs.

Delamare Park includes electric car charging for every home, more than three acres of open space as well as measures to support local wildlife including the planting of 178 new trees, the creation of hedgehog highways and a five-metre ecological boundary preserved for nature.
